Maxi Dress

It's summer once again so it's time to pull out those maxi dresses from the closet.
a
a
Kimono style maxi dress: Platinum Mall
Flipflops: Armani Exchange
a
a
I like to wear them when I'm just chilling at home.  They're also perfect for those days when I can't wear a short dress because I'm too lazy to shave my legs.  Haha!

Another Lazy Day Outfit

I know, not another lazy day outfit.  It's making me more drab and less fab.  I'm just probably PMS-ing.  That's the only explanation I can think of.  But I'm not gonna lie to you my friends; I won't just post the ones that I think you will like because I have my off days too.  This is what I wore to the supermarket the other day:
a
a
Ang gulo pala ng buhok ko, gosh!  I was THAT lazy!
a
a
Shirt: Gap
Leggings: from Pat's suking Korean shop in BF
Watch: Technomarine
Shoes: Sanuk
a
a
Let's just pretend that I'm going to the gym or yoga class.  But who are we kidding, right?  Y'all know I don't exercise kahit mukhang pang-exercise ang suot ko.  May matching elastic headband pa!  Haha!  And don't be fooled by the tummy.  I held my breath on this shot.  Heehee!

Make-up ala Penelope Cruz

Before anything, I just want to say two things: #1 I'm no make-up expert.  I'm still learning the ropes via make-up blogs and YouTube.  And most of the time, I'm just practicing and experimenting so I sometimes wear make-up even if I'm at home.
a
a
Which leads us to #2 I wear make-up even if I'm at home because sayang naman the stuff that I bought if I don't use them.  I'd rather use my make-up like that than to just let them gather dust on my dresser.  And also, I want to look good when my husband comes home from work.  After a long day in the office, the last thing he wants to see is an ugly hag right?  So even if I gained more than 20 lbs. since our wedding, I want to look pretty kahit papano.  I want to be presentable when I open the door for my husband.  That way, I remind him (I'd like to think I do!) that all the hardwork is worth it.  Haha!  And I hope that it gives him something to look forward to after a long, tiring day at the office.
a
a
That said, let's talk make-up.  In my previous post, I mentioned that I was able to save a lot of time dressing up with my simple outfit so I had more time for make-up.  Well, this was what I had on:
a
a
My face, which was inspired by this:
a
a
Penelope Cruz for Mango.
a
a
Indulge me here for a bit.  Wala lang kasi akong magawa.  Haha!  And forget the fact that Penelope Cruz IS Penelope Cruz and I'm like, twice her size but I think my make-up is close enough, right?
a
a
Kilay: check! I used my Bobbi Brown brow pencil in Mahogany + clear brow gel.
Nude shadow: check.  I used my Clinique Totally Neutral eyeshadow trio.
Eye liner: check.  Pero mas ok pala kung mas makapal.  I used Maybelline.
False lashes: wala!  Hindi ko keri!  But I used two coats of Bobbi Brown Party Extreme mascara after curling them with my Shu Uemura curler.
Subtle blush: check.  I used NARS Orgasm.
Nude lips: check na check!  Pero mas light yung kay mareng Penelope.  For my lips, I used NARS Bangkok and MAC lipliner in Whirl.
a
a
It's not exactly like Penelope's but for a newbie like me, I think I did an OK job.  Again, I'm not an expert that's why I need more practice.  Lots and lots of practice :)

Outfit for Lazy Days

On days when I'm too lazy to dress up, I put on a dress, shoes/sandals, a watch, earrings, my engagement + wedding rings and I'm ready to go.  I like a dress better because I don't need to mix and match my top with my pants/shorts/skirt/leggings.
a
a
It's one of them lazy days so I wore this:
a
a
Dress: Platinum Mall
Watch: Technomarine
Shoes: Tory Burch
a
a
Notice how I didn't have any accessories on?  I was that lazy!  The only stariray piece I had on were my shoes :)
a
a
My Tory Burch Reva flats have finally arrived!  They've been sitting in my mom's house for more than a month and Richard brought them home during his last business trip.
a
a
With this outfit, I was ready in less than five minutes.  There was no mixing and matching involved kasi.  I think that's what makes dresses perfect for those days when you're too lazy to dress up. With all the time that I saved, I was able to spend more time doing my make-up.  Heehee!  I'll tell you all about make-up on my next post :)

My Mini Me

If I put a lot of effort in to what I'm going to wear (and making it all seem effortless -- it's crazy, I know!), it just makes perfect sense of course that I double that effort when it comes to my daughter.  I already mentioned before how I love dressing up my big girl baby, but let me tell you more about her.
a
a
At the age of seven, my Aly already knows Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel.  She also knows MAC and NARS.  Her favorite shops are Zara and Gap.  She knows how to go through the racks on her own, checking out the stuff, pulling out the ones that she likes and hands them over to me for approval.  She also watches me in admiration when I dress up and put on make up.  She asks me if she can borrow my shoes and bags when she gets bigger.  And I tell her, "Of course babe!  Everything that mommy has now will all be yours someday."  Then she will smile.
a
a
She loves it too when we dress up in terno outfits.
a
a
Wearing the same black and olive green combo back in 2008.
a
a
Same Lacoste shirts, denim shorts and pig tails.
a
a
These dresses are special because I had them made for Christmas.
a
a
Same shirt, fluffy skirt and headband combo during our 3rd wedding anniversary last year.
a
a
I love how she's always game with whatever I want her to wear and I'm making the most of it now while she's still young.  My babe is growing up too fast and before I know it, she will be making fashion choices on her own.  Yikes!

NARS Bangkok

NARS pure matte lipstick in Bangkok
a
a
I just had to have it because I live in Bangkok.  Heehee!  Ang babaw.  I wish they have Manila shade as well.  I'd buy that one too!  Also, the first time I asked about Bangkok at the NARS counter in Central Rama3, they told me it was sold out because it was one of their best sellers.  You know how I get gigil whenever I hear those two terms.  Haha!  I went back a week later and they had it in stock so yay!
a
a
My "no make-up" look: Clinique Super City Block Oil-free Daily Face Protector SPF 40 -- it's a tinted sunblock so I just dabbed my MAC Studio Fix powder to get rid of the shine; Bobbi Brown brow pencil + gel, Benetint on the cheeks and NARS Bangkok on my lips.
a
a
This lipstick looks great with clear gloss too!  I tried it with my Lancome juicy tubes and I felt like a movie star!  Haha!  But I don't really like wearing lip gloss because I can't kiss Aly if I have it on.  She hates it when I leave a mark on her.  So these MLBB (My Lips But Better -- this deserves another post) shades are really good because she thinks I'm not wearing lipstick so I can kiss her anytime.  Heehee!

Brow Makeover

I started grooming my eyebrows when I was in 2nd year high school.  I think I was 14 or 15 back then.  That was legal kikay move, mind you.  It had my mom's consent.  Actually, she was the one who shaved them first so I owe my beautiful eyebrows to mom.  Yeah, mom's cool like that.
a
a
I thought I got it right since I've been doing it for so long, but like with everything else in life, there is always room for improvement.
a
a
Do you notice the difference?  Yikes no?
a
a
Here's a closer look. *cringe*
a
a
They look more natural no?  Plus the color's much better.  My old eyebrow pencil was Revlon in dark brown.  The new one is Bobbi Brown in mahogany.  It's part of their bow kit:
a
a
Bobbi Brown brow kit (Thb1,800/Php2,520).  It includes: pencil, brow gel, mascara and cleansing oil.
a
a
I'm so glad I found my way to the Bobbi Brown make-up counter the other day.  And I have to thank my kumareng Dy for that.  This domestic goddess from Belgium told me all about Bobbi Brown so I gave it a try.  Thanks Dy!  You need to give me more tips, ok?
a
a
I'm glad too that I took photos.  At least I have a peg to work on.  I doubt if I can do it exactly the way the make up artist did.  Heehee!  Need to practice!
