New Hair

I've been feeling a bit drab with my old hair.
a
a
Same old 'do over the years -- BORING!!
a
a
Needless to say, I'm dying for a makeover!  I wanted to cut my hair short, like chin-length short, but I'm not sure if it will look good on me.  Baka lalo akong magmukhang mataba so wag muna masyadong drastic.  I just really want to get rid of the ponytail because I want to be able to put my hair down.  Sayang naman ang haircolor if I always tie my hair, dba?  Soo, shoulder length na lang muna and if it works, maybe we can go shorter later on :)
a
a
Here's our new 'do!  I dragged the daughter to the salon with me as well.  She needed a haircut too!
a
a
Sabi ng mommy ko, I look younger with shorter hair and I think she's right!  Heehee!
a
a
Now the thing is, it was kinda hard to replicate the blowout that my hairdresser did at the salon.  I blow dried my hair yesterday and it was straight, all right, but it was still frizzy.  I felt like I had mushroom hair.  Haha!  So I got myself this:
a
a
My new arte tool: a straightening iron.
a
a
Let's face it: those hairstyles that we see on magazines are not really the wash and wear type in real life.  Effort talaga and hair product ang kelangan para ma-achieve ang mala-celebrity look!  And since I want to look nicer, I  need to put in more effort because we don't exactly look picture perfect when we wake up in the morning.  Aminin!
a
a
The only problem is, I need more time now more than ever to get ready.  First, the make-up (which I'm trying to use everyday para masulit especially now that I'm itching to go make-up shopping again), and now the hair.  Plus, since gumastos na din ako for this arte tool, I really need to use it to get my money's worth.  Good luck na lang.
a
a
Hay!  Ang hirap talaga magpaganda!

My Birthday Outfit

I didn't have much time to hunt for a birthday dress and shoe-shopping was unsuccessful.  Luckily, I have stuff in my closet that I can work with.
a
a
Dress: Platinum Mall
Watch: Richard's Technomarine
Shoes: Zara
a
a
I bought this dress around April, I think, and I've worn it only once.  I love the nude-ish color.  It's actually a maxi dress but I wore it shorter because I wanted the pencil skirt-ish effect.  It goes better with the shoes.  This is how the dress really looks like:
a
a
Loose and relaxed for my trip to the spa.  No more make-up too!
Flip Flops: A/X
a
a
Maxi dress + belt = this.
I used a belt to hold the dress up to my knees (it's hidden under the folds of the dress).  I think pwede rin without a belt since the material hugs the hips, but I'm not too sure if it will stay that way when you walk.  So I wore the belt to be extra sure the bottom part won't fall down.  Heehee!
a
a
One dress, two ways.  Ok, now I want this in black too!  Hope they still have it :)

Loungewear

In other words, pambahay (house clothes).  Pinaganda ko lang.  Haha!
a
a
Lazy days at home mean spending afternoons on the couch watching movies or several episodes of our favorite tv series and I love those days because they don't really require me to dress up.  Aly and I spend half of the day in our pajamas, take a shower and change into a fresh pair.  And to further prove just how lazy those days are: footwear is optional.  I like walking around the house barefoot.
a
a
Here's my take on loungewear.
a
a

Caftan: Chatuchak
a
a
I bought this as a beach cover-up but now that summer is over, I'm giving it extra mileage by wearing it at home.
a
a
Tunic: Chatuchak
I've had this for several years now and I'm still loving it!  Super comfy.  Plus the fact that it's white makes me feel and look so fresh and clean.  The hubby loves it when I wear this.  When I say love, that means he actually notices it and says something about it.  Husbands -- hay!
a
a
I will miss those lazy days.  Now that Aly's back in school, I need to dress up more or else my daughter will disown me when I pick her up in school wearing pambahay.  Heehee!

Airport

Gosh!  I haven't posted in ages!!  Sorry about that.  Anyhoo, Aly and I are on holiday so hopefully I will be able to post more often :)
a
a
Speaking of holiday, I'd like to share our airport outfit.
a
a
My first post using our full-length mirror at home but whoops!   Tabingi.  I have to practice taking these self portraits.
a
a
Ok, that's better :)
Top: Queen of Casual boyfriend collection, Platinum Mall
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Platinum Mall
Watch: Technomarine
a
a
Studded leather cuff: Siam Square
Bracelet: from Hongkong
a
a
Mother and daughter's take on cuffed jeans.
On Aly:
Shirt: Platinum Mall
Jeans: Old Navy
Sandals: Crocs
a
a
Since our family flies to Manila at least twice a year, I've learned a thing or two about what to wear and what not to wear to the airport.  Such as:
a
  • Comfort is paramount so jeans or leggings, a loose top and flats are a must.
  • It can get really cold inside airports and airplanes so make sure you pack a shawl or a jacket in your carry-on.
  • For bags, a big tote is best when you need to pull your passports in and out of your bag for immigration check, duty-free shopping, etc.
a
So there you have it: my two cents on airport style.  Heehee!  Hope this helps!

Aly's Fashion Wednesdays: Tiara

Here's another dose of Aly's Fashion Wednesdays!
a
a
Shirt: Gap Kids
Tutu skirt: SM
Leggings: Platinum Mall
Shoes: Gap Kids
a
a
We went crazy over these tutu skirts when they were uso!  But Aly doesn't wear them much anymore so I was happy she resurrected them from her closet.
a
a
Strike a pose, babe!
a
a
Show mommy your tiara.
a
a
Isn't she the cutest? :)  Great job there, princess!

Working Mom

Last week, Aly's homeroom teacher asked me if I can help decorate the 2nd grade classroom for the Science Fair.  I love those artsy-crafty stuff so go!
a
a
I wanted to wear something decent and comfortable.  Decent because I'll be in Aly's school so I want to wear something that says "parent", not "nanny".  Haha! And comfortable because, well, I will be working :)
a
a
Shirt: Gap
Jeans: Zara
Sneakers: Converse
a
a
I also brought along my bayong of craft supplies because I like to have everything ready and within reach.  It makes my work faster.  I hate having to pause and look for scissors, glue, etc.  Waste of time!  Karir dba?
